More Samples of Student Work

After reading Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus  a student in Kindergarten explains what he or she would tell the pigeon in the story.  This activity was great because the student was not only involved in the writing process, but was also involved in the critical thinking process as the activity involved explaining what one would do if faced with a difficult peer pressure situation. At Reach for the Stars tutoring, my lessons focus on the Indiana Academic Standards, but as a Christian based business I feel it is also important that my lessons help instill life-long virtues in children as well.
